Commonly referred to as the waterbug, the oriental cockroach is one of the larger cockroach species at 1.5 in. (38 mm) with a dark brown/black body. These cockroaches enjoy living in areas with a large amount of moisture, which is what gives them their nickname. If inside your home, they can be found near drains, basements, or decaying plants and outdoors they try to hide near mulch, groundcover, and thick bushes.
Oriental cockroaches carry pathogens that lead to disease and transfer them to humans and animals through their food sources
